 JUNE JOBLESS RATE RISES TO 11.81 PCT
                                
 Slovakia's unemployment rate rose to 11.81 percent in June,
the highest level since January 2006, from 11.39 percent

 ONE KILLED IN TENT COLLAPSE AT SLOVAK MUSIC FESTIVAL
                                
 Strong winds caused a marquee to collapse at a music
festival in northern Slovakia on Saturday, killing one person

 DZURINDA RULES OUT COOPERATION WITH SMER
                                
 Former reformist Prime Minister Mikulas Dzurinda ruled out

 REPORT ON A CONTROVERSIAL CO2 CONTRACT
                                
 Report on the controversial sale of excess carbon emissions,
submited by the environment ministry to the parliament,
disclosed names of other interested buyers, but did not reveal

 HIGHWAY PROJECT COSTS TO RISE
                                
 Fico's government approved a hike in costs of the planned
highway project in central Slovakia, to 1.8 billion euro from
previous 1.5 billion euro, due to stressed financial markets.
The cabinet also approved higher annual payments to the
