GOVERNMENT MEETING
The government will hold its regular weekly meeting, no major economic items on agenda. The cabinet will debate a boost of Slovak troops in Afghanistan under NATO's ISAF.
PARLIAMENT SESSION
The parliament will hold a session to debate a nomination of new Attorney General and an opposition proposal to introduce a special bank levy, submitted by the strongest opposition party SMER, led by ex-Prime Minister Robert Fico.
ZILINA VS OLYMPIQUE MARSEILLE
Zilina will play against Olympique Marseille in Wednesday's match in Champions League, Group F.
BUDGET GAP MORE THAN DOUBLES Y/Y
The Slovak central state budget showed a deficit of 3.373 billion euros ($4.70 billion) between January and October, compared with a 1.537 billion euro deficit in the same period last year, finance ministry data showed on Tuesday.

PM RADICOVA WARNS OF TRNKA'S RE-ELECTION
Prime Minister Iveta Radicova stressed a need to replace the outgoing Attorney General Dobroslav Trnka with a new person. She said if Trnka would be re-elected thanks to her SDKU party, than she could consider to step down as Prime Minister.
SDKU, however, agreed later on Tuesday, to support another candidate.

COALITION AVERS ROW OVER ATTORNEY GENERAL
The ruling coalition of Prime Minister Iveta Radicova averted a row after her SDKU party backed off from supporting Dobroslav Trnka for re-election as the Attorney General, a move which could put the government's stability at risk.

FINMIN SLAMS OPPOSITION SPECIAL BANK TAX
Slovak finance ministry slammed an opposition proposal seeking a special tax on banks next year, to offset a planned hike in the value added tax (VAT).
"The proposal bypass an ongoing European debate, contains technical imperfections, but it in particular it is based on bad calculations and ignores negative impacts on citizens and economy." the ministry said.
