The Statistics Office will publish September producer price data. The market expects PPI at +0.1 percent on the month and +6.3 percent on an annual basis.
GOVERNMENT COUNCIL ON ECONOMY
The government's Economic and Social Council will debate a report on economic and fiscal developments in the first three quarters of 2008 and the outlook for the rest of the year.
CBANKER TELLS GOVT TO HAVE BUDGET CUTS READY
Slovak central bank Governor Ivan Sramko called on the government to have spending cuts ready from early 2009 to ensure it meets its fiscal deficit goal if budget revenues fall short of the plan.

Slovak lawmakers approved on Friday a government proposal to expand insurance to the full amount of bank deposits after the global financial crisis pushed some European Union members to take similar steps.

The Slovak central bank's (NBS) foreign currency reserves edged down to $17.242 billion as of Oct. 22, from $17.878 billion on Oct. 15, the bank said on Friday.

PENSION CHANGES
The parliament has approved a government proposal to open the private pension system. The measure will create a window for people to opt out from the private pension funds and return to the pay-as-you-go scheme lasting from Nov. 15 until the end of June 2009.
