CEE MARKETS: The Polish zloty and the Romanian leu led gains in central Europe on Friday, after Poland outlined a fiscal consolidation plan and risky assets were boosted by strong U.S. GDP data.

INDUSTRY RISE: Czech industrial output rose 2.1 percent year-on-year in December, more than market expectations and the first annual rise since September 2008, the Czech Statistics office said in a flash estimate on Friday.

MONEY SUPPLY: Czech money supply, as measured by the M2 indicator, grew by 4.3 percent year-on-year at the end of December, after a revised 4.1 percent rise the previous month, central bank data showed on Friday.

The plan is to cut the fiscal gap to 3 pct/GDP by 2013 to meet the country's convergence programme. For this reason, Janota is also considering introducing a new personal income tax rate of 31 percent for an income of over 1.7 million crowns ($91,450) a year.

ELECTION: The leading Czech rightist party the Civic Democrats (ODS) will introduce an economic council on Monday that should help the party prepare a programme ahead of an election in May. The party is looking for ways how to narrow its rival Social Democrats' lead in opinion polls and beat them in the election.
