TOKYO, Feb 7 (Reuters) - Japanese stocks are expected to move in a narrow range on Thursday, with investors remaining cautious over the U.S. economic outlook and Japanese corporate earnings.
"The market is likely to see a rebound early in the session following recent losses, but the upward move will be limited," said Hiroichi Nishi, general manager of equity marketing at Nikko Cordial Securities.
The benchmark Nikkei average lost 5.5 percent in the previous two sessions.
Nishi said investors see many reasons for holding off their bets ahead of corporate earnings announcements, Friday's settlement of index options contracts as well as a meeting of Group of Seven finance ministers and central bank governors in Tokyo this weekend.
Softbank Corp <9984.T>, Japan Tobacco Inc <2914.T> and Kirin Holdings Co Ltd <2503.T> are among the firms scheduled to announce their earnings later in the day.
