JANUARY INFLATION
The Statistics Office will publish January EU-norm inflation data, 0800 GMT. Analysts forecast prices to have risen by 0.5 percent month-on-month and 2.8 percent year-on-year.
GOVT CRISIS COUNCIL
The government's crisis council will meet to debate new measures against economic crisis. Prime Minister Robert Fico will chair the meeting.
NOKIA SIEMENS SAYS WINS DEAL FROM TELEFONICA O2

EU GETS 28,297 T GRAIN INTERVENTION OFFERS
European Union farmers offered 28,297 tonnes of grains, of which 23,297 tonnes of barley and 5,000 tonnes of maize, to the bloc's intervention stores in the week to Feb. 22, official data showed on Thursday.

CAR SUBSIDIES
The government is considering offering subsidies of 1,500-2,000 euros to Slovaks who would dispose of their old cars and buy new cars. The total cost is seen at 35 million euro, and car dealers should also contribute to the programme.

GAS SUPPLY
Russian gas giant Gazprom <GAZP.MM> might cut gas supply to Europe again in March due to an unsettled debt with Ukraine worth 400 million euros. Slovak gas company SPP is aware of the situation and says Slovakia would be prepared for a crisis situation.

OPPOSITION ANTI-CRISIS MEASURES
The three main opposition parties have proposed to cut the flat-tax rate to 16 percent from current 19 percent, improve labour market flexibility and adjust public procurement system as measures to combat the impact of the economic crisis. Prime Minister Robert Fico says he will never cut the tax rate.
