TOKYO, Dec 11 (Reuters) - Gold prices rose above $1,130 an ounce on Friday as the dollar steadied, after snapping a four-day losing streak the day before when investors returned to buy bullion, which had fallen from record highs hit last week.
FUNDAMENTALS
* Spot gold <XAU=> edged up 0.4 percent to $1,134.50 an ounce as of 0003 GMT.
* U.S. gold futures for February delivery <GCG0> rose 0.9 percent to $1,136.00 an ounce, compared with $1,126.20 on the COMEX division of the NYMEX.
* Gold rose on Thursday, snapping a four-session losing streak as institutional investors and exchange-traded funds added positions after bullion retreated from record highs last week.
* The world's largest gold-backed exchange-traded fund, SPDR Gold Trust <GLD>, said its holdings stood at 1,116.247 tonnes as of Dec. 10, unchanged from the previous business day. [

* U.S. stocks gained on Thursday as signs of improving trends in the job market and a decline in the U.S. October trade deficit reassured investors the economy was on a steady growth path. [
]* The dollar was steady against a basket of major currencies on Friday as investors awaited a series of Chinese data due later in the session. On Thursday, the dollar was unchanged against the euro despite concern about euro zone deficits, while Australia and New Zealand's currencies soared as strong economic data hinted at further interest rate rises.[
