COMMISSIONER: The present Czech EU commissioner Vladimir Spidla received the strongest support from ministers in a vote on Monday but failed to win a majority support needed to win the post, the daily reports citing an unnamed source. Eight ministers raised hand for Spidla while nine votes are needed for a majority backing. Six ministers supported former cabinet minister Alexandr Vondra.
