PM FICO TO ADDRESS A COMMITTEE
Prime Minister Robert Fico will address the parliament's committee for international relation ahead of the European Council meeting in Brussels, Oct. 29-30 (1330 GMT).
SLOVAKS START REPORTING INDUSTRIAL ORDERS
Slovakia's Statistics Office said on Tuesday it would start coverage of new industrial orders on a regular monthly basis, beginning in November.

CHEMLON HUMENNE LAYS OFF ALL WORKER
Chemical company Chemlon Humenne, in eastern Slovakia, will lay off all its 308 workers as it struggles to settle a 3.3 million debt with Chemes Humenne. Chemlon is an important employer in Humenne, some 480 km east from capital Bratislava.

Parliament has approved widening of the 2009 central state budget deficit to 3.127 billion euro, from the original ceiling of 1.009 billion euro, as state revenue suffer from the contracting economy.

Prime Minister Robert Fico's party Smer retained lead in a popularity poll, conducted by private polling agency Focus. Major opposition party SDKU remained the second most popular. The opposition Christian Democrat took the third place.

Irish budget airline Ryanair <RYA.I> said will add new routes to Italy's Bologna and the United Kingdom's Liverpool from capital Bratislava, as of October 28.
