Slovakia's highest court cut a fine levied on oil refiner Slovnaft <SNFT.BV> by 504 million crowns ($25.67 million) to 838 million crowns on Thursday.

EXPORTERS COPE WITH STRONG CROWN
Slovakia's largest exporters said the strong crowns was not hurting their operations as much as the small and medium-sized enterprises. Large companies said they used forex hedging, benefited from cheaper imports and managed financial operations in the euro.

Some 2,500 Romanians were the biggest group of almost 8,600 immigrants in Slovakia last year. Record number of immigrants moved to Slovakia in 2007, seeking better jobs provided by strong economic growth, analysts said.

ROAD TOLL TENDER
Austria's Kapsch TrafficCom <KTCG.VI> said the road toll tender, worth at least 20 billion crowns ($1.02 billion), was manipulated to suit a selected bidder. Three consortia have challenged the decision to exclude them from tender in May.

JASLOVSKE BOHUNICE CLOSURE
Economy Minister Lubomir Jahnatek said he was still considering delaying the planned decommissioning of the second block at country's oldest nuclear power plant Jaslovske Bohunice. Decommissioning is planned for the end of the year as agreed wit the EU.
