Polish media group Agora recovers 2.5 percent after a newspaper reports it plans to take over news channel Superstacja.

Agora dropped nearly 20 percent in the last two weeks ahead of the appearance of new employee shares on the Warsaw bourse on Friday.

0810 GMT 08July2008 - PGNiG gains from lower gas prices ---------------------------------------------------------------------
Polish gas monopoly PGNiG <PGNI.WA> surges by 4.5 percent as it benefits from lower prices of imported gas, which fall hand in hand with oil prices.
"It's all about oil," said Sebastian Siejko, trader at UniCredit in Warsaw. "Oil prices are down and gas import prices are linked with the price of oil."
Weaker oil prices also boosted refiners PKN Orlen <PKNA.WA> and Lotos <LTOS.WA>, which are up 2.5 and 3.3 percent. Companies buy nearly all of the crude they refine.
