RETAIL SALES: Czech retail sales fell 2.0 percent year-on-year in April, a smaller fall than analysts forecast, and after a 1.1 percent drop in March, data showed on Monday.

RETAIL BONDS: Czech Finance Minister Eduard Janota plans to issue retail bonds in November. A maximum of two emissions would take place a year. Janota would not disclose what coupon the bond would carry or how much the government plans to raise through the issue.

FINANCIAL SECTOR SUPERVISION: Czech central bank Vice-Governor Miroslav Singer said he did not believe that the De Larosiere report would in future help prevent a financial crisis. It is possible to consider whether it would be more effective to boost powers of regulatory bodies in individual EU member states, he said.
