EUROPEAN COMMISSION FORECASTS
The European Commission will publish its economic forecasts, 1145 GMT.
SONY PLANT OPENING
Prime Minister Robert Fico and Sony Europe President, Fujio Nishida, will attend opening of a new Sony factory near the western Slovak town of Nitra.
MARCH PRODUCER PRICES
The Statistics Office will publish March producer prices data, 0700 GMT. Analyst forecast producer price inflation of 0.2 percent month-on-month and 5.3 percent year-on-year in March.
BOND AUCTION
The finance ministry's Debt and Liquidity Management Agency will auction a 2-year, zero-coupon state bond.
PM SAYS WANTS STRONG EURO ENTRY FX RATE
The Slovak government will seek to negotiate as strong a conversion rate for the planned 2009 euro adoption as possible, Prime Minister Robert Fico said on Saturday.

Slovakia's president signed a disputed media bill into law on Friday, ignoring an outcry by publishers and rights groups who say it undercuts press freedom and backslides on the EU newcomer's democratic commitments.

The Slovak central bank's (NBS) foreign currency reserves edged up to $20.144 billion as of April 23, from $20.116 billion on April 16, the bank said on Friday.

Latvia's central bank has criticised rhetoric questioning sustainability of Slovak inflation ahead of the May 7 European Commission convergence report. Media have reported the European Central Bank has serious concerns about Slovak inflation outlook.
