GENERALI-PPF FUND: Czech privately owned investment group
PPF will launch a new investment fund PPF Partners operated
jointly with Italy's Generali <GASI.MI>. Founders of the fund
will put in 40 billion crowns ($2.08 billion) this year. The
fund will specialise in investing in central and eastern Europe.

FISCHER GOVT: The leading opposition party Social Democrats
will likely back the interim government of Jan Fischer in a
confidence vote scheduled for June 7, Social Democrat chairman
Jiri Paroubek said. He also said main highlights of his party's
pre-election campaign include reinstatement of progressive
taxation and returning the corporate income tax to higher levels
from 2008.
